Back in the Day Re-enactment furniture
Not so long ago the great British oak tree played a great part in the building of our country. Many parts of the world looked to Britain to lead the way in trade: - an industry which now sadly has been lost (along with many other traditional crafts once common on the high street) with the onset of the industrial revolution and the resulting international import of third world goods.
Our increasingly throw away society has become too set in its ways and I believe the impact on green issues and global recession has only be negative.
By encouraging people to buy British made items and second-hand quality items at a fair price we can turn the tide and support the key issues of today. Research shows this idea is already successful in the food industry and there are many
Back in the Day Re-enactment Furniture & Collectables create re-enactment items for sale and furniture made to order, as well as wooden toys, vintage and new jewellery accessories, bowls, braid, beeswax candles and other one off items .

Douggie the Wood
Based in the stunning city of York Douggie the Wood take his inspiration for his furniture from the wealth of historical and archaeological remains which surround us. Douggie started making furniture at an early age producing stunning and precise chippendale-style furniture but is now regressing in style and technique to make historically accurate replicas using basic tools.
All of their furniture is handmade in their own workshop using traditional techniques and seasoned locally sourced timbers. They fully research our pieces to ensure that they confirm to the style and period in question and the metalwork is sourced from traditional blacksmiths.
The furniture you will see on their website is mainly 15th century but we can research and make anything you desire.
As an added bonus they endeavour to make the majority of their furniture ‘flat pack’. If you take a careful look at the three legged stools, tables benches and beds, you’ll see that with the removal of a single peg they can be knocked down at the end of your event and transported flat in your car/van, and indeed wherever practical they will come in there

Le Prevo Leathers
Le Prevo Leathers started trading in 1972. At that time the business made leathergoods in the craft style that was the fashion of the period.
In the early 1980's, we started to sell the tools and materials that we used ourselves to other leatherworkers, mainly in the North East.
It became apparent that there was a nationwide demand for this service and a mail order catalogue was created. In 2002, a web site was added to our activities which has allowed us to offer worldwide distribution.
We like to think that having started as leatherworkers ourselves and still running a small workshop, we are unique in our ability to understand the needs of other leatherworkers

Punchdrunk
Since 2000, the company has pioneered a game changing form of theatre in which roaming audiences experience epic storytelling inside sensory theatrical worlds. Blending classic texts, physical performance, award-winning design installation and unexpected sites, the company's infectious format rejects the passive obedience usually expected of audiences.
Punchdrunk has developed a phenomenal reputation for transformative productions that focus as much on the audience and the performance space as on the performers and narrative. Inspired designers occupy deserted buildings and apply a cinematic level of detail to immerse the audience in the world of the show.
This is a unique theatrical experience where the lines between space, performer and spectator are constantly shifting. Audiences are invited to rediscover the childlike excitement and anticipation of exploring the unknown and experience a real sense of adventure. Free to encounter the installed environment in an individual imaginative journey, the choice of what to watch and where to go is theirs alone.

Swordpunk
Swordpunk is an alternative weekend of combat skills. It isn’t about hierarchy, getting belts or being graded. It’s about teaching skills such as sword fighting, knife throwing, rope dart, whip cracking, archery and spear fighting. It’s about sitting down to eat together, swimming in lakes and sitting around a fire with people you’ll want to make friends with and stay friends with for a long time after the event.
Swordpunk is not about being excluded because you don’t have this or that skill. Swordpunk is about finding ways to teach you skills you want to learn – whether you’ve never picked up a weapon in your life, you’re a performer who wants to learn to crack a whip, a re-enactor who’s never fought with fire swords or a martial artist who needs to polish up on your Winden am Schwert.
Swordpunk is an attempt to teach and share real skills – with the added bonus of making us feel like adventurers.

Turnaround Wood
Turnaround Wood manufactures a range of wooden items, bowls, plates and the like
Each item is individually turned out of a variety of locally sourced woods. All bowls and items are hand turned in our workshop. The bowls are turned from either green or part seasoned logs. They are then left to dry for a few weeks / months. During the drying period the bowls may warp and twist slightly due to the natural shrinkage, This makes each item very individual with its own character. They look wonderful throughout modern homes or in living history camps.
Different finishes can be applied. Some of the turned wooden bowls here are intended to be purely decorative but some may be used as fruit bowls or salad bowls.
Woodturning finishes used are either wax or oil based. A wax finish is suitable for either decorative use or as a fruit bowl but will not withstand washing. A food safe oil based finish (made from natural plant extracts) is suitable for use as a salad bowl, fruit bowl or purely decorative and will withstand washing but it is not advisable to leave a wooden bowl immersed in water for any length of time.
