The Bells of Newtown

The Bells Of Newtown: A Film About L.A.R.P.. is an independently produced documentary which follows the construction and execution of award winning Live Action Roleplaying event DARK TEMPUS.

Hosted by Jamie Morris, the film provides a unique look at the hobby from the inside, challenging common perceptions as the crew move up the ranks from zeroes to heroes in the World of L.A.R.P. - Chatting to crew, writers and of course, the players themselves.

During the production of the film Phil J. McBride, father to the DARK TEMPUS creators, sadly passed away. Throughout this difficult period, he received outstanding care from MacMillian. Although this film will always be available in his memory, we kindly ask for those who enjoy the film to donate towards this excellent cause

LARP: The Movie

LARP is a feature film currently in development by Ex Machina Films. It is an adventure comedy/fantasy genre film that pays homage to larpers and “nerd culture.”  Written by Nicholas Dunn and Ehren Remal, the story follows two mismatched story-tellers who embark on a literal Hero’s Journey when they find themselves involved in a Larping guild.

Ex Machina Films has been developing the script for over a year, refining the screenplay, attaching talent and crew, creating concepts and artwork, and networking with filmmakers and larpers alike in preparation to shoot the movie and bring it to audiences. Now officially in preproduction, we’re reaching out to our audience to complete the financing via Kickstarter

This is the type of LARP that goes on for years, people begin and build their characters from the ground up and grow with them -- it's an intense subculture
